North east accountancy firm, Jaccountancy, joins other business and charity supporters in purchasing ‘A brick for Brad’s pad’ in support of The Bradley Lowery Foundation.

The Bradley Lowery Foundation was established in August 2017 after the sad passing of the late Bradley Lowery at the tender age of 6 years old, after a long battle with stage 4 high-risk Neuroblastoma. Bradley became famous after striking an amazing friendship with then Sunderland FC football player Jermain Defoe, which helped raise the profile of childhood cancer worldwide.

After Bradley sadly passed away, his mother Gemma Lowery founded the charity in his name to support families fundraising for treatment or equipment, not yet available on the NHS. To date, the charity has supported many families to access potentially life-saving treatment in Michigan, New York, Barcelona, Panama and Mexico. They have supported many families to get life-changing equipment in their homes to enable their disabled children to live more comfortably.

The Bradley Lowery Foundation – Brick for Brad Campaign

The charity always aspired to create a holiday home for families of poorly children to provide a safe space away from home to relax and make memories, outside the clinical setting of a hospital.

For those parents with a poorly child who spends over 50% of their lives in hospital, finances can become extremely impacted and therefore a trip away or a holiday is sometimes not an option for them due to the cost.  The Bradley Lowery Foundation will be able to offer two families per week a much-needed break away in the luxury holiday home situated in the idyllic seaside town of Scarborough, North Yorkshire.

Jaccountancy are encouraging other local businesses in and around Newcastle upon Tyne to also get involved in the “A Brick for Brad’s Pad” campaign.

Jay Wilson, managing director said;

“We are honoured to have contributed to the ‘Brick for Brad’ campaign, and even more so to have helped provide a safe space for families with poorly children when they need it most. We encourage all local businesses across the North East and further afield to contribute where they can to this wonderful cause. Bradley Lowery inspired so many of us with his positivity and it’s wonderful to see the foundation bringing such positive experiences to so many in his memory”

The money raised from the bricks will contribute towards the rest of the build of the bespoke holiday home, as well as go towards the ongoing costs of running the home.

The charity expects to support up to 100 families each year, helping them to make everlasting memories that would not have been possible without the use of Super Brad’s Pad.
